Retry / Backoff
Try again, wait longer each time
A pattern for transient failures: retry the call, waiting progressively longer (backoff), often with jitter so every client does not stampede at once.
Concrete example
If a rate-limited API returns 429, wait and retry instead of failing immediately.
Why it matters
Makes agent-built integrations survive flaky networks—and dangerous if retries are unbounded.
